Ralph D. Page of Bruceton Dies of Heart Attack
Services for Ralph Douglas Page, general merchandise salesman of Bruceton, were held Saturday afternoon at the Bruceton Church of Christ, Fred Chunn officiated, and burial was in Prospect Cemetery at Hollow Rock.
Mr. Page, who was 40 died Thursday at Marr's Grocery Store near Camden, following a heart attack. He was born at Lexington, but had lived in Bruceton many years. He formerly operated a grocery. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He leaves his wife; a son, Larry Page, and a brother Marion Page, all of Bruceton.

McCall David Pinkley, 84, of Bruceton died Friday Morning, August 26, at JMCHH. Mr. Pinkley was born May 17, 1910 to the late Priest McCall Pinkley and the former Mrs. Zelma M. French Pinkley in Carroll County.
Mr. Pinkley was the owner/manager of Bruceton Service Station. Funeral services were held August 28, at the Primitive Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Brother Garland Broadway officiating. He was a member and deacon of Hollow Rock Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae McDaniel Pinkley; a daughter, Virginia Rhea Price of Harrisonville, Missouri; and three grandchildren.

Longtime Jackson Public Schools teacher Ben "Chief" Taylor passed away peacefully at his home in Bruceton, TN, on Monday, Aug. 8, 2011. He was 97 years old and died in the home where he was born.
Taylor, who was affectionately known as "Chief" by his students and colleagues, taught in the Jackson public school system for more than 30 years, first at Central High School and then for many years at Provine High School where he taught government and was the golf coach.
His wife Mildred Taylor, who preceded him in death, was a teacher at Enoch Junior High School in Jackson.Taylor retired in 1973 to return to Tennessee where he managed a meat business and farmed.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Christine Taylor of Nashville; two granddaughters, Alexandra Taylor of Los Angeles, CA, and Victoria Taylor of Chapel Hill, NC; and one sister, Dorothy Maggio of Sarasota, Fl.
Taylor had a thirst for knowledge and an ability to make friends all his life and will be sorely missed by many. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Bruceton Funeral Home.

Willie Mae Woods Butler

Services for Mrs. Willie Mae Butler, 74, of Buena Vista, were conducted Thursday April 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt Nebo Baptist Church at Buena Vista, where she was a member for 60 years. Burial was in Spellings Cemetery with REv. Paul Merwin officiating. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge.
She was married to Mr. Landrum Stanley Butler, who survived and together they operated Butler's Grocery at Buena Vista for 27 years before retiring in 1981.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, David Butler of Athens, Texas, and Jimmy Butler of Bruceton; one sister, Josephine Corrado, of Bruceton; six grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Cole, John Alan Hord, David Uldrich, Mike Corrado, Taylor Hopper and William Darrell Wyatt.
