Christine Bowers Aylor, 91, formerly of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, March 5, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Noel Edwards officiating. Burial followed at New Prospect Cemetery near Hollow Rock. Pallbearers who served were Joel Edwards, Levi Towater, Robert Rivers, Eddie J. Dupree, Larry Spencer, and Nathaniel McCain.
Mrs. Aylor, daughter of the late William Elijah Bowers and Bessie Ora Brewer Bowers, was born on September 15, 1916, in Buena Vista. She was a retired secretary for Methodist Publishing Company of Nashville and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bowers. She is survived by a half-brother, Alvin Bowers of Wichita, Kansas; four nieces, Lynda Morrison of Gallatin, and Dianne Patterson, Connie Forehand and Beth Smith, all of Nashville; and three nephews, Robert Rivers of Cookeville, and Jack Bowers and Thomas Bowers, both of Lebanon.
