Virginia Bayless "Nanny" Moore, age 93, of Maurertown, Virginia and formerly of Renton, Washington and Bruceton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at home.
Services will be conducted at a later date with burial in Spellings Cemetery, Buena Vista, Tennessee.
Nanny was born January 13, 1917 in Carroll County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Henry Porter and Edith Priestly Taylor Bayless. She was retired from retail sales, was a member of Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church, Renton, Washington and in her younger days played All Star Softball as an outfielder. She was married to the late James Coke Moore, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jim Alkire; six grandchildren, Todd Alkire, Kim Kerns (Donnie), Chad Alkire, Tammy Rosen, Dana Johnson and Jeff Johnson; 17 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Brock, Cayden, Trevan, Taylor, Corey, Connor, Patrick, Madison, Zack, Nick, David, Joe, Heather, Josh, Austin and Tiana.
She was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters, her mother, father, husband and a daughter, Judy Spiry.

Virginia Bayless Moore, 93, of Maurertown, Va., formerly of Bruceton, passed away on Jan. 5 at her home. She was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Spellings Cemetery near Buena Vista. Bro. Steve Davis will officiate. Bruceton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Moore was born in Bruceton to the late Henry Porter Bayless and Edith Priestly Taylor Bayless. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church in Renton, Wash. In her younger days she played as an All-Star softball outfielder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Coke Moore, Jr.; a daughter, Judy Spiry; four sisters, Edna Herring, Rosa Hammond, Ruth Maddox, and Caroline Cahoon; and three brothers, Dick Bayless, Porter Bayless, and Jim Bayless.

Mrs. Lottie Bowers Rodgers, 79, of Bruceton, died, Wednesday, December 4, at Methodist Central in Memphis.
Funeral Services were conducted Friday December 6, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Buena Vista. Burial Followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rodgers, a retired antique dealer, was born April 5, 1917 in Carroll County to the late Martin Giles and Eva Gay Kee Bowers.
She is survived by her husband Charles Henry Rodgers, Jr.; two daughters, Susan Jackson of Memphis and Jennifer Kennon of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two sons Michael Rodgers and Charles Rodgers, III, both of Memphis, and three sisters, Nell Birdwell of Hollow Rock, Clara Lee Noles of Bruceton and Mable Reed of Martin. She also leaves two grandchildren.
Pallbearers who served were Michael Rodgers, Charles Rodges, III, Jonathan Kennon, Danny Birdwell, David Noles, and Thomas Kennon.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of Flowers.

Maurice Ethridge (Radio) Flowers, 85 of Hollow Rock, died Sunday, October 12, at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, at Faith Baptist Church. Burial followed in New Prospect Cemetery. Brother Steve Davis and Brother Scotty Davis officiated. Pallbearers who served were Mike Bennett, Ryan Bennett, Ricky Lowe, Matthew Lowe, Pat Patterson and Cotton King.
Mr. Flowers, son of the late Edward and Sally (Hollowell) Flowers, was born June 9, 1918 in Dollar. He was a retired locomotive engineer for the CSX Railroad Company and a member of the Faith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Jewell (Bennett) Flowers, who died July 28, 1994.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Charles Turley Harvey age 91, of Ionia, passed away May 11, 2007 at Heartland Health Care in Ionia. Charles was born February 8, 1916 in Hallow-Rock, TN., the son of Ira and Lemora (Cox) Harvey. Charles served in the US Navy during
World War II, he retired from Key Line Freight of Grand Rapids, MI in 1978.
He is survived by his wife Weltha; five children, Robert (Hilda) Harvey of Kentwood, MI, Cheryl (William) Anderson of Muir, Larry Harvey of Ionia, Charles Jr. (Sue) Harvey of Ionia, Harold J. (Mellissa) Harvey of Ionia; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his
parents, brother Earley and daughter Judy.
Per Charles' request, there was a graveside service held for the family on Monday with Pastor Robert Jourdan officiating. Interment in North Plains Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.

Mrs. Christine Pickler, 97, of Buena Vista, Tennessee, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Roger Cooper will officiate the services.
Mrs. Pickler was born January 10, 1917, in Vale, Tennessee, to the late Elus H. and Era Estelle (Hutcherson) Sanders. She was a retired nurse for the Benton County Hospital, a member of the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Pickler, a brother, Norman Sanders and a sister Corlynn Sanders.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bennett, of New Johnsonville, Tennessee and Theresa Kristle, of McDonough, Georgia. She also leaves three grandchildren, Sharon Videtto, Marsha Bennett, Andrea Ingram, two great grandsons, Taylor Videtto and Carson Videtto.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 PM till 8 PM at Dilday – Carter Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9 AM till time of services.

Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Woody was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Martin, to the late William T. Wright and Marsilla McClurkan Wright. She was a retired insurance agent for Life & Casualty Insurance Company, and a member of Germantown Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Ralph D. Page and Robert E. Woody, and infant son, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Susan) Page, of Tampa; two grandchildren, Scott D. Page and
