Edna Bayless Herring, age 84, of Sheffield, Ala., died Thursday Dec. 22, 2005. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service, conducted by her sons, will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Herring was a native of Bruceton, Tenn., a member of First Baptist Church, of Sheffield, and was an employee of the Carriage Shed for 17 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Porter and Edith Taylor Bayless; her husband, Emory George Herring Jr.; her brothers, Henry Porter Bayless and James Bayless; her sisters, Caroline Bayless Cahoon and Ruth Bayless Maddox.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Herring Welborn and Edith Herring Jenkins; sons, James Emory Herring and Dr. Timothy George Herring; a brother, Richard Bayless, of Bruceton, Tenn.; and sisters, Jennie Bayless Moore, of Virginia, and Rosa Bayless Hammond, of Memphis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Lee Ricks, Dan Jenkins, Dr. Bill Welborn; grandsons, Will Welborn, Dr. Michael Jenkins and Caleb Herring.
The family would like to express special thanks to Martina Faulkner and Tamara Hart for their love, care and support.
