Services for James Ray Shawl, 70 of Bruceton, were at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at Bruceton Funeral Home. Burial was in Hollow Rock's Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Shawl, a yardmaster for the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad (now Seaboard Systems), died Monday, October 19, at Nashville Memorial Hospital in Madison.
He was married to Nancy Helen Owens Shawl. They had four children, Mary Felts of Joelton, Susan Blair of Carthage, Gail Foster of Alexandria, Virginia, and Sandra Nichols of Jacksonville, Florida. He also had a brother, A.C. Shawl, Jr. of Brentwood and a sister, Virginia Mayes of Sulligent, Alabama
