William Dwayne "Cotton King (January 7, 1926 - January 4, 2011)

Mr. William Dwayne "Cotton" King, age 85 of Hollow Rock, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Bro. Steve Davis and Bro. Sonny Daniel will officiate the service. The family will receive friends in the Oakwood room on Thursday after 5 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. King was born August 15, 1925 in Carroll County, TN to the late Hobert King and Ollie (Foust) King. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Haskins, Sue Wiser; three brothers, J.R. King, Edwin King and Lee Ira King.

Mr. King was a longtime teacher, coach, principal, and retired as Superintendent of the Hollow Rock-Bruceton School. He was a WWII Army veteran, a graduate from Murray State University with a masters degree in education, a 50+ year member of TSSAA, inducted into the Carroll County sports Hall of Fame in 2004. He was a 32nd degree mason of Hollow Rock Lodge #288, member of Scottish Rite and Al Chymia Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy King; one son, Keith King (wife, Debra) of Mt. Juliet; one sister, Wanza Bond (husband, Charles); one brother, Robert M. King, both of Bruceton. He also leaves two grandchildren, Wesley King and Valerie King.
