Aline Cary

Obituary for Aline Cary Cole
FORT WORTH - Aline Cary Cole, 92, peacefully passed from this world June 19, 2020.

On March 8, 1928 joy was brought to the hearts of Lela and Arco Cary, for on that date their second child, a baby girl, Dora Aline (Aline) was born. This occurred in the community of Shiloh in Carroll County, Tennessee. Aline spent her early years living in Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas. She graduated Hollowrock/Bruceton Central High School Class of 1947. She met the love of her life, Willard Cole, in Buena Vista, Tennessee in 1943 where they attended the same church, Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. They were married in the same church on September 7,1947, after his return from service in the U.S. Army. Aline and Willard moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where he attended University of Tennessee and she worked for the Dean of Agriculture.

After graduation, they moved to Paducah, Kentucky, and they both worked for the Atomic Energy Commission. Paducah is where their first baby girl, Pamela Ruth was a Christmas gift. The new family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1955 where both attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. They joined Travis Avenue Baptist Church the same year. Robbie Susan, their second baby girl, was delivered to the family in August 1957. Aline graduated from SWBTS with a degree in Religious Education. At Travis Avenue Baptist Church she was the Superintendent of the Senior 15 years old department during the late 1950's and early 1960's. For twenty years, she was a medical office business manager.

Aline was an avid antiques collector and dealer on the side (that is what happens when you collect too much). Her particular interests in antiques were early American and primitives, especially quilts and baskets. She also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. Her other interests included genealogy, holiday entertaining with her family, Jeopardy, Jigsaw puzzles, and American history. She enjoyed being around people and they enjoyed being around her. She always had a ready laugh, along with a sharp mind and excellent memory her entire life. Most of all Aline loved her family and above all, her precious Lord and Savior.

Towards her later years, Aline fought the good fight against larynx cancer and the aftereffects of treatments. Willard was her constant caretaker, giving her continuous love and undivided attention and care. Their love for one another was tried and true.

Aline leaves her beloved husband of 72 years, 9 months and 11 days, Willard Clifford Cole; her daughter, Pamela Cole (Patrick Gallagher); son, Clayton Cole; her daughter, Susan Pels (David); children, Caroline, Hayden and Harrison; brother, John F. Cary; sister, Dianna Mitchell; also, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
