GAYLON CECIL LOWE
1930-2015

Gaylon Cecil Lowe, 84, of Bruceton, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at his home. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 11 at Bruceton First Baptist Church with Bro. Shawn Allred officiating. Burial followed at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.

Mr. Lowe was born April 11, 1930 in Carroll County to the late Leonard Morton Lowe and Ruby Louise Peale Lowe. He was a member of the Bruceton First Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, where he was awarded two bronze stars, a United Nations medal, a National Defense medal and a Good Conduct medal.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Glisson, and six brothers, Irvin, Roy, Leonard “Tip”, Ralph, Bobby, and Milburn Lowe.

He is survived by: wife of 63 years, Iva Nelle Smothers Lowe, of Bruceton; two sons, Billy (Lee) Lowe, of New Johnsonville, and Barry (Donna) Lowe, of Jackson; one sister, Velma Merrell, of Jasper; one brother, Gene Lowe, of Camden; four grandchildren and six Greatgrandchildren..
