Mr. Gene Robert McMackins, 84 of Bruceton, Tennessee, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are Bruce Hilliard, David Finnan, Michael Hilliard, Aaron Hilliard, Brandon Hilliard and Danny Hollingsworth. The family will receive friends in the Oakwood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service.
Mr. McMackins was born December 14, 1936 in Hollow Rock, Tennessee, to the late Russell Rueben and Jurrah Bell (Rogers) McMackins. He retired from the Milan Arsenal, served in the US Army and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by her wife of 53 years, Mary Nell McMackins and ten siblings.
He is survived by a son, Russell “Russ” McMackins of Brevard, North Carolina, four daughters, Teresa McMackins of McKenzie, Amy Jo Hollingsworth (fiancee’ Billy Melton) of Three Way, Sherry Jean Finnan (Dave) of Brevard, North Carolina, Bonnie Gayle Hilliard (Bruce) of Bruceton, and one step-daughter, Kathy Dunham of Huntingdon. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Charly, John, Danny, Katie, Aaron, Brandon, Michael, Brandee, Shane, Jessica and six great grandchildren. [Source: Chase Funeral Home]
