50 Year Anniversary Reunion
The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School graduating Class of 1961 held the 50th year class reunion on Saturday May 28, 2011 at Paris Landing State Park Inn. Eighteen members of the original 41 graduates attended. The festivities began at 4 o'clock with a social time of greeting each other, reminiscing about school days, and reviving old friendships while popular music from the sixties played in the background. Several tables of memorabilia, pictures, and artifacts from school days were displayed
around the banquet room. A beautiful memorial table displaying pictures of deceased class members was adorned with candles and white roses. Finger foods consisting of fruit and vegetable trays, chips and dips, hot meat dishes and soda drinks were served to those who arrived early to enjoy this time of fellowship.
At 6 o'clock everyone enjoyed a delicious meal of grilled pork loin, baked chicken, assorted vegetables, salad, assorted desserts and drinks. After dinner, Larry Page, class president, presided over a short program beginning with a moment of silence to remember each of our deceased classmates which included Peggy White, Billy Furr Wyatt, Larry Mitchell, Charlotte Cawthon Spencer, and Mary Frances Glosson Taylor Duncan. The program concluded with everyone sharing some "trivia" from school days and commenting on their lives and activities during the past 50 years.
