JOHN DANIEL COLE
December 25, 1963 - December 13, 2018

John was born in Milan, Tennessee on December 25, 1953 the son of Mable Laverne Williams Cole and the late J. R. Cole. On September 30, 1974 he was united in marriage to Ginger McIntyre, who survives.

John served his country in the United States Marine Corps., where he was a field radio operator. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter and Good Conduct Medal. John was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Savannah where he also was the pastor over Senior Adults. John ministered to the Native Americans in Arizona.

He departed this life on Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 18 days.

In addition to his wife of 44 years Ginger, he is survived by his children, Aprille Virginia Cole Roberts and her husband Mitch of Atwood, Tennessee and Michael Zackory Cole of Corinth, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jordan Matthew Roberts and Noelle Acacia Roberts; mother, Mable Cole ; and nephew Brent Daniel Cole.

In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Eugene Douglas and Gary Brent Cole.

Funeral services for Bro. Roger Dale Ellis, 52, will be conducted on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the McAuley Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Stewart, Bro. Marshall Gurley, Bro. Billy Joe Hilliard, and Bro. William Fowler will officiate the service. The family will receive friends in the Cherry Wood Room of Chase Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.

Mr. Ellis was born February 14, 1952 in Bruceton, TN to the late Lloyd Ellis and Ruby (Mitchell) Hintz. He was an assembly worker for Johnson Control in Lexington, TN, a minister for 24 years until his illness, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married on October 14, 1972, Kay (Maness) Ellis, three daughters, April Bradford (husband Derek) of Camden, TN, Robin Finley (husband Bryan) of Cordova, TN, Holly Ellis (boyfriend Brian Allen) of Huntingdon; one son, Clint Ellis of Buena Vista, TN; one sister, three brothers and seven grandchildren. HOLLOW ROCK: Mrs. Robin Dianne Lowe, 52, died Saturday, October 1, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 3, at Dilday Funeral Home East Room. Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery. Brother Kenneth Frazee officiated the services.

Mrs. Lowe was born September 28, 1953, in Milan, to the late George and Era Mae Noles Grooms. She was a member of the New Crossroads Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela.

Martha Susann Johnson, age 69 of Nashville, TN passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Ms. Johnson was born on October 20, 1953 to the late Billie and Leta Hicks Johnson. She was also preceded by a brother Terry Johnson. Susann was in the floral business in Nashville for over 30 years. She enjoyed baking and gardening. Christmas was a special time. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays. Her fur babies were her life. She is survived by sisters, Janice Taylor and Charlotte Johnson; and brother, Mark Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (visitation 10 a.m.-1 pm.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, Nashville, TN by Stryker Warren.

BRUCETON: Jenny Lee May, 56, died Wednesday, August 5, at Life Care of Bruceton. Funeral services are Friday, August 7, at 1 p.m. at Bruceton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Whitworth and Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Hustburg, TN. Order of Eastern Star rites are Thursday evening.

Ms. May was born June 3, 1953. She was a teacher for the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Special School District, member of Bruceton First United Methodist Church, choir member, past Chairman of Board of Trustees, past church lay leader, member of Bruceton Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter 314, 1995 Teacher of the Year and CEA officer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Moore May.

Survivors include: her father, Melvin May of Bruceton; and one sister, Judy Wilder of Rives. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Services for Terry Len Pruitt, 43, were held Saturday, August 24, at Bruceton Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hebron Methodist Church Cemetery near Hollow Rock.

Mr. Pruitt, a retired technician for Procter and Gamble of Jackson, died Tuesday, August 20, at his home.

He was born on june 20, 1953 in East Chicago, Indiana to James E. and Luzetta Loveless Pruitt of Paris.

Mr. Pruitt had two children, Angela Pruitt of Paris and Adam Joseph Pruitt of Bruceton. He had two sisters and two brothers, Cindy Hollingsworth and Debra Campbell, both of Bruceton, Larry Pruitt and Jamie Pruitt, both of Jackson.

Pallbearers who served were Broce Park, Tony Hollingsworth, Leon Caudill, Jr., Eric Capps, William Kiirby, Tip Bowden and Andy Gehle.

Gail Shawl Foster, 68 of Goodlettsville passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville. Born January 21, 1953 in Bruceton, TN, she was the daughter of the late James R. Shawl and Nancy Owens Shawl.

Gail was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Nichols; a brother, David Shawl; and a niece, Shawn Foster.

Gail was married to her High School sweetheart, Rick Foster. Theirs was a true love story and example of a successful marriage exemplified by 50 years together. Their careers kept them moving over the years and they lived in more than 15 locations during this time. Gail served for 26 years as an administrator with the US Secret Service and Richard was with the US Air Force.

Gail was constantly “on the go”. She loved travel, especially cruises; gospel music; reading; the beach, sunshine and the ocean. She wore flip flops year-round. She had an infectious smile and a personality that would light up the room. A caring, loving and giving individual, she could talk to anybody and never met a stranger. She had many lifelong dear friends and maintained relationships from high school days and including people she and Rick met on their cruises. She loved her vacations and family times spent with her sisters and their familes. She had a special bond with her nieces Mary Leigh and Ginny. Gail loved her family above everything else.

She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Foster; sisters, Mary Kennedy (David) and Susan Cash; nieces and nephews, Mary Leigh Newsom (Kevin), Tara Matlock, Robert Huntoon, Trish Scott (Robert), Ginny Fowler (Chris), David Huntoon, Nicole Clawson (Thomas), Shawn Nichols, and Shane Foster (Lori).

Visitation for Gail will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 from 12 noon until 4 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 PM at Bruceton Funeral Home, Bruceton, TN with visitation from 10 AM until 2 PM. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery, Hollow Rock, TN. She was the office manager at the Carroll County Technical Center for forty-seven years and a member of Prospect Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Byron Smothers.
