A 22 year old Buena Vista man became Carroll County's fourth fraffic fatality when his 1984 Chevorlet Monte Carlo stuck a tree about 2 1/2 miles south of Hollow Rock Saturday.
Jeffery L. Hampton 22, was killed about 6:20 p.m., according to Trooper Charles Pickard of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Hampton was driving north on Hollow Rock - Buena Vista Road at excessive speed when he lost control of the vehicle and skidded approximately 546 feet before striking a tree on the passanger side of the car, said Pickard.
According to witnesses, the victim was crossing a bridge when he encountered a dip in the structure and lost controll, the trooper said. On impact, he was thrwn partially through the rear window.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival with multiple injuries.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. Rev. Jimmy Allison and Rev. Steve Davis officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home of Camden in charge.
Mr. Hampton, a painter for Tennessee Metals in Huntingdon, was a 1980 graduate of Bruceton-Hollow Rock Central High School and a member of the Prospect Baptist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Eldon J. and Nadine Hampton of Buena Vista; a brother, Gary Hampton of Bruceton; and his grandfather Elmer Hampton of Buena Vista.

Mrs. Ellis, 52, died Friday, June 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born June 6, 1962 in Bruceton, TN to the late Henry and Christine Rogers Hollingsworth. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, McKenzie and a line worker for Briggs & Stratton, Murray, KY.

Mr. Steven Roy Hopper, age 50 of Henderson Road, Boaz, Alabama formerly of Bruceton died recently at his residence.
Services were held on 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at McRae Chapel, interment will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 in Prospect Cemetery, Hollow Rock, Tennessee. Tony King and Ray Amberson will provide the Eulogies. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hopper was born in Tennessee on Oct. 4, 1962 to Taylor Lincoln & Patricia Golightly Hopper. He was a wholesale representative for Allen Edmonds Shoe Company.
Mr. Hopper is survived by his Sons: Taylor Hayden Hopper and Noah Steven Hopper both of Wetumpka, Mother: Patricia Golightly Hopper of Bruceton, Tennessee, Brother: Michael Hopper of Donaldson, Tennessee, Sisters: Renee H. Ms. Debbie Kinnick, age 54, of Hollow Rock, passed away Thursday October 6, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the Dilday-Carter Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Long Rock Cemetery.
Ms. Kinnick was born on December 11, 1961 in Decatur, Alabama to Jerry King and the late Margaret Arnold King. She was a Sherriff’s Deputy for Henry and Carroll Counties, a member of Hollow Rock Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of the J-etts traveling softball team who won a state championship.
She is survived by: her father, Jerry King of Bruceton; son, Zach Clement of Hollow Rock; daughter, Kayla Clement of McKenzie; three grandchildren, Ryle, Xyler, and Autumn Mims of McKenzie; a brother, Joel (Chandra) King of Bruceton; and a sister, Melissa Ellis of Bruceton.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 5-8pm and then on Sunday from 9am until time of service.

Mrs. Evans, daughter of the late Hermon Philip and Elsie Ungurean McMillin, was born on October 14, 1961, in Garden City, Michigan. She was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary McMillin.

Services for Randy Lee Pierce, 30, of Bruceton were at Bruceton Funeral Home Wednesday, May 13. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery near Camden. Mr. Pierce, a mechanic installer for West Tennessee Public Utility Gas Company died Tuesday morning, May 12 at his home. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Sarah Pritchard of Yuma and Ralph E. Pierce of Bruceton; maternal grandmother, Norma Horn of Yuma, parental grandparents, Dewey and Odell Pierce of Bruceton.

Mr. Kevin Rogers, 61, formerly of Bruceton, departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He worked for several years for Goodyear as a G-3 Tech- Tire Builder. He was a graduate of Hollow Rock Bruceton Special School District and served in the National Guard for 20 years.
Mr. Rogers was born December 29, 1961, in Huntingdon, TN. to the late Thomas Henry Rogers and the late Minnie Ilene Merrell Rogers. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister Vickie Lowe and three brothers Phillip Rogers, Larry Rogers and Mike Rogers.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Sarah Rogers (Jason) Turner. of Dresden. He will be missed by many.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 1996, at Ridgeway Morticians for Timothy Greg "Tim" Walters of Hollow Rock. J. D. Featherston officiated. Burial followed in New Hope Methodist Cemetery in Vale. Chosen as pallbearers were Mark Susewitt, Kevin Lancaster, Tom Parker, Jim Barnett, Robert Cole, Barry Larkins, Roger Turner and Tim Cooper. Honorary pallbearers were Fungate Redmon, Eldon Wimberley and Bruce Larkins.
Born May 17, 1961. In Huntingdon, he was a son of William Wesley Walters and Virginia Sanders Walters of Hollow Rock. A member of the Elks and Moose lodges in Paris, he attended New Hope Methodist Church in Carroll County.
He Was a route driver for UPS in Paris for seven years. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Tony Walters of Bruceton and Roger Walters of Hollow Rock; two sisters Penny McGee and Rhonda Hodge both of Hollow Rock; former wife, Donna Dunlap of Bruceton; girlfriend, Fern "Tess" Stephens and her children LaDonna, Francee and Clint Stephens, all of Paris; a grandmother, Queenie B. Sanders of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Mike Walters; and a sister Sherre Walters. Ridgeway Morticians is in charge of arrangements.
