Brett Allen Blankenship, 45, of Hollow Rock passed away Thursday, July 13. Funeral services were held July 16 at Bruceton First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Prospect Cemetery. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Michael Atchinson, Michael Taylor, Jeff Vowell, Brent David, Mihcael Roberts, and Shea Bromley.
Mr. Blankenship was born May 1, 1972 to Bobby Blankenship and Kathy Smothers Blankenship. He was a loving father and beloved family member. He loved golf, cooking, and his family and close friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Madison Blankenship, and his paternal grandparents, Floyd Blankenship and Louise and Dink Holladay.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Smothers (Joe T.) Wood of Lexington; father, Robert “Bobby” Blankenship of Bruceton; daughters, Hope Blankenship and Belle Blankenship of Hollow Rock; brothers, Bart (Rachel) Blankenship of Bruceton and Weston Wood of Nashville; an aunt, Betty Springer; an uncle, Keith (Janie) Smothers; nieces, Bentley Blankenship and McKenna Blankenship; nephew, Jude Blankenship; grandparents, Troy and Mary Jo Smothers of Bruceton and Barbara Wood of Lexington; and cousins, Robin, Jessica, Keith, and Kim.
