Jeremy Steven Devault, 36, passed away Apr. 3, at his home in Hollow Rock. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., today (Wednesday, Apr. 7) at the Bruceton Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Bradshaw officiated. Pallbearers who served were Jamie Williams, Robert L. Williams, Brian Batte, Marty Batte, Marty Roberts, Brett Blankenship, Lance Davis, and Ryan Bullington. Honorary pallbearers were Darren Wilks, Cary Dale Hunt, Ethan Lee, Will McMackin, Matt Roberts, Nick Wilks, Michael Roberts, Jackie McGee, Logan Batte, Haden Williams and his band members, Tim O'Quin, Joshua Umstead, Billy Stevens, Eric Wood, Mike Wolf and Becky Kalhoun.
Mr. Devault was born on Oct. 7, 1973, to Beth Cary Devault and the late Sherman Devault. He was a member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Master of Hollow Rock Masonic Lodge #288, and a member of the York Rite, Chapter, Council, and Commandry. He was a salesman for Cumberland Fire Safety. Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Selena Devault.
He is survived by his mother, Beth Devault of Hollow Rock; an aunt, Pam Gallimore of Bruceton; three uncles, Steve Cary of Hollow Rock, Mark Cary of Humboldt, and Danny Devault of Bruceton; and grandfather, Edward L. Cary of Hollow Rock.

MILAN Funeral services for Jeremy Dewayne "J. Bird" Hilliard, 35, of Milan were held May 31 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Atwood. Rev. Donnie White officiated. Mr. Hilliard died May 28 at Milan General Hospital. He was a forklift operator at T.B.D.N. Corp. and a member of Free Will Mission Church near Milan.
Mr. Hilliard is survived by his wife, Rachel Luther Hilliard of Milan, a step-son, Carson Hicks and stepdaughter, Carlee Hicks of Bruceton, his mother, Rebecca Sims and father, Billy "Slick" Sims of Milan, three brothers, Willie Russell of Paris, Zachary Russell of Fort Sill, Okla. and Lucas Sims of McKenzie, three sisters, Tenecia Sledge of Knoxville, Tammy West of Milan and Lula Sims of Jackson, and grandmother Elsie Hilliard of Jackson.

Howell Dwayne (Hal) Mebane, Jr., 17 of Buena Vista, died Sunday, June 30, at his home. Services will be today (Wednesday, July 3) at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Bruceton with burial in the Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Bro. Conyer Walker officiated. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Hal graduated from Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School with an Honors Diploma in May of 1991. He received the Social Studies Award, Presidential Academy Achievement Award and had plans to attend UT Martin this fall. He was presently working in construction with his father. During his senior year Hal was chosen Wittiest by his class and also played on the school's baseball team which played in the State Tournament this year. Hal was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bruceton.
He is survived by is parents Dwayne & Mary Virginia Mebane; four sisters, Amy Scott of Brentwood, Terry Haynes of Atlanta, GA, Melissa Totty of Camden, and Kippy Alexander of Maryville; his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Mebane of Buena Vista, and Mr. F. Bates Sullivan of Fort Pillow.
