Glamis was the father of Jacqueline "Jackie" (Holland) Jones, Michelle, John and Christa (Holland) Zoeteman. He was the grandfather of Jason, Chet, Jack, Piper, Grace and Grant.

He was an outstanding principal and educator and was respected by all who knew him. He was fair and honest and always stood up for what was right and for those who needed help.

Glamis' parents and ancestors are buried in Flatwoods Methodist Church Cemetery in Benton County, Tennessee, and his wife and children are in Tucson, Arizona, where he lived for most of his life. He decided so he could be in both places with those he loved, he had his ashes split and is buried in both locations. In the Tucson memorial wall, he is placed next to his granddaughter, Ella Christene Holland Zoeteman.
