Carolyn "Boots" Hurley, 76, of Bruceton, died Sunday, December 19, at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Bobby Snider, Rev. James Daniel and Rev. Dennis Trull will officiate. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Pallbearers who served were Jimmy Carey, Joel Washburn, Warren Tinker, Bob Rutledge, Pete Bryant and Ricky Reed. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Smith, Joe Ed Taylor, Brett Mebane, Jeff Mebane, Dr. Jerry F. Atkins, Wayne Qualls, John Snider and Randall Wilson.
Mrs. Hurley, the daughter of the late Ohlen Lloyd Reed and Arta Blackburn Reed, was born November 17, 1923, in Huntingdon. She was a retired shipping clerk for H.I.S. Co., Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Hurley, Jr.; a son, William S. Hurley, III; a sister; Lenora Wiles; and a brother, Thomas Ohlen Reed. She is survived by a son, Brad Hurley of McKenzie.
