Martha Ann Martin, 90, of Stow, Ohio, passed on to be with God on August 7.

Born Martha Ann Wilson in Tennessee in 1923, Martha started her career in Washington, D.C. There she met James E. Martin, whom she married in 1949. They raised four children in Northern Virginia, where Martha was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress, an avid camper and active in Girl Scouts.

In 1975, the Martins retired to Florida and enjoyed fishing, gardening, entertaining, volunteering and traveling. After her husband's death in 1992, Martha moved to North Carolina, where she volunteered and enjoyed an active social life with her close companion, Michael Rapport. In 2008, she relocated to Stow and became a member of the Church in the Falls in Cuyahoga Falls.

She is survived by a sister, Marilyn Beaird of West Monroe, La.; four children, Susan Lesnik of Lexington, S.C., David Martin of Nokesville, Va., Barbara Hobbs of Stow, Ohio and Alice Atalla of Kirkland, Wash.; son-in-law, Nick Atalla; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her close friend, Fred Zockoll.

Family and friends will celebrate Martha's life at a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, at the Church in the Falls, 837 Chestnut Boulevard, Cuyahoga Falls. The family will greet guests one hour before the service.
