Rachel Butler Joyner
October 17, 1924 - February 7, 2015

Mrs. Rachel butler Joyner, 90, of Nashville, formerly of Bruceton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Services will be conducted today (Wednesday, Feb. 11) at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home. burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. John Cole will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Joyner, Michael Joyner, Richard Mainegra, Cullen
Smith, John Cole, and Charles Cole.

Mrs. Joyner was born on Oct. 17, 1924, in Buena Vista to the late Edd Hauley Butler and Beulah
Ethel Smothers Butler. She was a housewife and a member of Hartselle Baptist Church. Besides
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Tug” Joyner; a son, Freddie Joyner; and two brothers, Warren Butler and J.W. Butler.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri (Richard) Mainegra of Nashville; a son, Kenneth (Laura)
Joyner of Franklin; a brother, Edward (Ann) Butler of Bruceton; and three grandchildren, Matt Joyner, Michael Joyner, and Emily Joyner. [Source: Carroll County NEWS-Leader]
