Mr. Harris was born on October 14, 1927 to Oscar O. and Mary Bell Harris, in Bruceton, TN. He was the youngest of seven children. On December 23, 1944, he married Thelma Webb, also of Bruceton. He joined the Navy in 1945 and served in Michigan at Great Lakes Naval Station. After leaving the Navy in May 1946, he graduated from Central High School of Bruceton, TN in December, 1946. After graduation, he and his wife, Thelma, moved to Michigan. Mrs. Harris passed away in 1953 and was buried at Prospect Cemetery, Bruceton, TN. Mr. Harris returned to Michigan and continued to work for Tishken Products for 25 years and then worked with Kmart in their headquarters until he retired. Mr. Harris was a member of Redford Lutheran Church, Detroit, Michigan, until his death.
He is survived by his widow, Elaine, two children (Donna and Diane), and three grandchildren. Internment at Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan.
