William H. Teer

William Marvin Teer
August 22, 1926 - April 9, 1998

DECATUR, IL -- William Marvin Teer, 71, of Decatur died 3:40 a.m. Thursday (April 9, 1998) in his home.
Mr. Teer was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Bruceton, Tenn., the son of Charlie Marvin and Jewell Barnhart Teer. He retired in 1979 from Caterpillar Inc. and retired in 1996 after serving 15 years as a deputy in the Macon County coroner's office. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Decatur, a life member of American Legion Post 105 and a World War II Navy veteran.

He married Dorris West on Aug. 4, 1949, in Jackson, Tenn. Surviving are his wife; sons, Michael of Chula Vista, Calif.; Charles of Mukwonago, Wis.; grandsons, Ryan and Kyle, both of Mukwonago. He was preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of his life with a memorial service will be held at a later date. Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, is in charge of arrangements.
