Fort W. Hopper
December 13, 1930 - January 14, 2016

Fort Wayne Hopper, 85, of Brewton, Ala., formerly of Bruceton, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, at Community Hospice in Foley, Ala. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Bruceton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Mr. Hopper was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Bruceton, to the late Dr. Floyd M. Hopper and Ella B. Taylor Hopper. He was a retired trainmaster for CSX Railroad, and loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a Lion’s Club member, a Mason and a member of the Brewton Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Hopper, an infant son, Stephen W. Hopper, and a brother, Taylor L. Hopper.

He is survived by a daughter, Kim (Evadne) Hopper, of Quinque, Va.; two sons, Barry (Wanda) Hopper, of Foley, and Greg (Sharon) Hopper, of Metairie, La.; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Tiffany, Shelley, Greg, Jessica, and Casey, and nine great-grandchildren. [Source: Carroll County News-Leader]
