The funeral service for longtime county commissioner and railroad owner William Earl Anderson of Paris will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Paris, where he was a member.
Rob Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Chosen as pallbearers are Brent Greer, Dell Carter, Paul Mathenia and Jim, Jody and Jason Kizer.
Henry County commissioners will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Anderson, 81, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at residence.
His wife, Delores Horton Anderson, survives. They were married on Nov. 1, 1964.
Born in Wildersville on Sept. 30, 1930, he was a son of the late James Wesley and Florence Kizer Anderson.
Anderson was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had been a member of the Bruceton Masonic Lodge since 1953. He served four terms as a Henry County commissioner, representing the 5th District, before resigning in July due to declining health.
He work1ed with L&N Railroad for 35 years and then in 1987 started KWT Railroad here. He also was former general manager of the car fleet for Seaboard Coastline Railroad in Jacksonville, Fla., until 1985.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one daughter: Karla Gurton of Paris; one son: William E. “Bill” (Christy) Anderson Jr. of Paris; one brother: James Fred Anderson of McKenzie; and five grandchildren: Caroline and Wesley Gurton, Lauren and Lindsey Anderson and William E. “Tripp” Anderson III.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: Gene Anderson.
