Mr. Billy Thomas Johnson, 78, of Bruceton, passed away Sunday, October 25, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Masonic Rites were held at 7 p.m. Monday, October 26, at the Bruceton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, in the chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Brett Mebane, Bro. James Daniel, and Bro. Steve Frederick officiating. Burial followed in the Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Pallbearers who served were Jason Kizer, Jody Kizer, Bobby Moore, Roger Davis, James Sloan, and John Parker.
Mr. Johnson was born on May 13, 1931, in Carroll County to the late Mr. Thomas Jefferson Johnson and Mrs. Mary Lorene Pittman Johnson. He was a United States Army Veteran, retired member of the TN National Guard, a member of Twin City Community Church, Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Memphis Scottish Rite, York Rite Chapter, Council and Commandry and former member of Al Chymia Shrine. BRUCETON: Billy Thomas Johnson, 78, died Sunday, October 25, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services are Tuesday, October 27, at 2 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Brett Mebane officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Johnson was born May 13, 1931 in Carroll County to the late Thomas Jefferson Johnson and Mary Lorene Pittman. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired member of Tennessee National Guard, member of Twin City Community Church, member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Memphis Scottish Rite, York Rite Chapter, Council and Commamdary and former member Al Chymia Shrine.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jo Kizer Johnson of Bruceton; one son, Michael (Michelle) Johnson of Bolivar; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday 9 a.m. until time of service. [Source; Tri County News]
