Roscoe Durden

William R. Durden
December 6, 1932 – September 11, 2006

William Roscoe Durden, 73 died at 4:40 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2006, in a local hospital. He was a native of Bruceton, Tennessee, and moved to SW Louisiana after his retirement from the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean War and in Vietman. He played high school football and also played college football for Murray State. He enjoyed having his morning coffee with his friends at McDonalds.

Survivors include his wife Betty Durden of Sulphur; brother Frank Durden of Bruceton, Tennessee; sisters, Alice Wyatt of Bruceton, Tennessee, Barbara Bunn of Louisville, Kentucky, and Brooxie Love of Granite City, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Johnny Stanley and his wife Mary of Sulphur and Lester Stanley of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Lucille Thomason of Sulphur and Numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Omra Durden and sister Jean Durden. He will have graveside services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carylss under the direction of Hixon-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
