Baxter H. Eason, 68, of Powell, formerly of Vale, died Thursday, April 4, in Knoxville. Services were held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Rose Mortuary in Knoxville. Rev. Carl Oaks and Rev. Angela Hardy officiated. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Eason, the son of the late James H. and Mary Kathleen Sills Eason, was born March 28, 1934, in Vale. He was a retired TVA supervisor and a Navy Veteran. His memberships included Trinity United Methodist Church, The Wesley Builders Class, Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Scottish Rite and Shrine.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Paul Eason and Robert Eason.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cook Eason; two daughters, Sally Amanns and Beth Rayson; three sisters, Dorothy Hall of Doublin, Georgia, Jeannine Maners of Clarksville, and Barbara Wiles of Cumberland, Maryland; a brother, Martin Eason of Bruceton; and three granddaughters, Alexandra Danae, Savannah Elizabeth and Gabrielle Rose.
