Jimmy Wood Butler, age 76, of Bruceton passed away at Jackson Madison County Hospital. Funeral services were held July 19 at Bruceton Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Davis officiating. Burial followed at Spelling Cemetery near Buena Vista.
Mr. Butler was born March 14, 1940 in Buena Vista to the late Landrum Stanley Butler and Willie Mae Wood Butler. He was a retired manager for HIS outlet store, member of Bruceton First Baptist Church, a past Bruceton alderman, a past volunteer fireman, and a past nominee for outstanding man of the year.
He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Landrum Butler, and a brother, David Butler.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta Harris Butler; one daughter, Belinda Evans of Bruceton; one son, John (Tammy) Butler of Buena Vista; four grandchildren, Dylan Casteel, Ciara Evans, Will Butler, and Anna Grace Kee; and family members Mary Elizabeth Chambliss and Paul Chambliss.
Pallbearers were Will Butler, Dylan Casteel, Denton Pebbles, Joe Butler, Bob Clark, and Ethan Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Corrado, Larry Spencer, Bill Dodd, Ted Lowry, Terry Atkins, Robert Keeton III, and Robert Keeton, Jr. [Source: Carroll County News-Leader]
