James David “Jimmy” Garvey
May 22, 1941 - March 12, 2015

Mr. James David “Jimmy” Garvey, 73, of Bruceton, passed away Thursday, March 12, at Camden General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home. Military honors were held at the gravesite in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock. Bro. Terry Bradshaw officiated. Pallbearers who served were Larry Williams, Jimmy Simpson, Buddy Smothers, Derrell Robinson, David Garvey, and Jeff Harris.

Mr. Garvey was born on May 22, 1941, in Lexington to the late James Olden Garvey and Nelle Kathryn Kennedy Garvey. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired laborer for Porter Cable Company, a member of Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, and a member of Bruceton First Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Garvey.

He is survived by a daughter, Taba Katherine (Jimmy) Karna of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Kella Catherine Karna and Kennedy Clarie Karna; and a very special friend and companion, Adrienne Phillips of Waverly. [Source: Carroll County News-Leader]
