Posted: 02/27/01 Willodean Childress, 84, of Huntingdon, died Friday, February 23, at the McKenzie Health Care Center. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, at the Eastview Baptist Church. Dr. Steve Atwood officiated. Burial followed in the Carroll Memorial Gardens. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Childress, the daughter of the late Joe and Myrtle Henderson Mitchell, was born June 6, 1916, in Westport. She was the widow of A.H. Childress, who died December 21, 1999. She was a retired cook for the Huntingdon School System and a member of the Eastview Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Godwin of Gleason; a son, Joe Childress of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
