Donald C. Jones, 70, of Erlanger, Kentucky, formerly of Carroll County, died at his home Monday, April 17. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Stith Funeral Home in Florence, Kentucky. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger.
Mr. Jones, the son of Lila G. Jones of Bruceton and the late Willie G. Jones, was born May 18, 1929, in Carroll County. He was a retired inspector of General Electric, a lifetime member of AFL CIO in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a member of Florence Masonic Lodge No. 949. He was an Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War and also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Opal Strunk Jones; a daughter, Nickie Gibbs of Union, Kentucky; a son, D. Jeff Jones of Corbin, Kentucky; two sisters, Barabara Campanella of Nalcrest, Florida, and Helen Griffin of Huntingdon; and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requested all memorials be sent to St. Elizabeth Hospital Hospice in Covineton, Kentucky.
