Nadean_CaryNadean Cary Appleton, 81, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013. Memorial service: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity or foundation of choice. Nadean was born March 3, 1931, in El Dorado, Ark., to Arco and Lela Cary.

She grew up in Carroll County, Tenn., where she became a Christian at an early age. Nadean met Dr. F. George Appleton while working at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville and they were married Sept. 21, 1953. They resided in Loudon, Tenn., where their three children were born. Upon moving to the Fort Worth area in 1969, she became a member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church until the present. There she served on the library staff. Nadean was a loving mother and dedicated Christian wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dr. F. George Appleton; her parents; and brothers, J.R., L.C. and Billy Cary.

Survivors: Sons, Gregory Scott Appleton and wife, Kathy, and Bryan Cary Appleton and wife, Leisa; daughter, Betsey Carol Appleton; grandchildren Kallie, Scott, Erin and Zachary; sisters, Aline Cole and husband, Willard, and Diana Mitchell and husband, Billy; brother, Johnny Cary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
