Larry D. Dowdy August 19, 1933 - January 24, 2012

Mr. Larry D. Dowdy, 78, of Bruceton, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Cornerstone Health Care in McKenzie.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Marlboro Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Brother Joe Abbott will officiate the services.

Mr. Dowdy was born August 19, 1933, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late W. C. Dowdy and Ethel Ownby Dowdy. He was a retired employee of Emerson Electric and a member of the Marlboro Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Inez Dowdy.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Dowdy, three step-sons, Franklin King, of Dickson, Tennessee, Tony Melton, of Orlando, Florida and Michael Melton, of Paris, Tennessee. He also leaves three step grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 PM till 8 PM at Dilday – Carter Funeral Home and on Friday from 8 AM till time of services.
