On Wednesday, Nov. 10, a collision at the intersection of Highway 70 and Highway 641 in Camden between an SUV and a motorcycle resulted in the untimely death of the cyclist. At 5:31 p.m., the 2017 Ford Edge SUV driven by Judy Thornton, 68, of Holladay, and the 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Mark Campbell, 32, of Bruceton, collided while travelling on Highway 70. Both drivers were injured in the crash. Air Evac was called to transport Campbell, but he was unable to survive the trauma he sustained and expired at the scene. Thornton reportedly was examined at Camden General and released.

The Camden Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol both worked the scene of the accident, with THP taking charge. The Camden Fire Department assisted in setting up a landing zone for the Air Evac helicopter.
