Really Old Photos

The 1946 class was the first class to have a yearbook. As an alumni you know the school has a class picture of the 1928 class to present day on display at the school. There are other pictures in existence of the students, faculty members and sports teams before the first yearbook. A few of the yearbook's in the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's have some of those old photos. I am creating this page along with a link to display those old photo's. I will post more pictures as I run across them

For those of you under the age of 50 or 60, you may or may not know this. The surrounding communities of Buena Vista, Vale and even Spanish Grove had their own schools. I'm know very little history of any of these schools. In the early years the Vale School may have been referred to as New Hope School. I think the Buena Vista School may have gone through the twelfth grade at one time but I am not sure of that. I think I have seen a picture of the Buena Vista baseball team winning a state championship. Add Cotton Creek School to the list also. Eventually students of these schools attended Bruceton Central to complete their high school education. 

The point I want to make is, I don't want to limit this page to old photos of just the Bruceton school. I have a few photos before the first yearbook. Some of the old Bruceton elementary, New Hope, and Buena Vista schools. One problem with some of these old photos the year is not known and many of the students and teachers are unknown. I have visited with several elderly residents in the area above the age of 80 with little success of them identifying names. Either their eyesight was too poor to see the pictures clearly or their memory was just not good enough anymore. I have had better success showing the pictures to those of us in the fifty and sixty years age group and a few have been identified by recognizing a close relative such as parent, uncle, grandparent, etc... 

If you look at the class picture of 1928 you will see I have no names for the picture. The school has no record of the student's in that class. I want to post these old pictures in hopes of someone identifying some of these students and teachers even though they are from schools other than the Bruceton school. If you can furnish information please contact me. Also if you have more old photos of groups or even individuals please email them to me.  I will add more pictures as I find them in the yearbook's. Once I have more pictures I will create separate galleries for each category, group, or school.
